JOE review and Hasbro has gone out of their way to package their group of highly-trained commandos with any and everything they could possibly need to thwart the advances of COBRA. Generally, the accessories section of these reviews isn’t very large. Even though this doesn’t seem like it’s that big of a deal – it is a friggin’ HUGE jump in G.I. All of the articulation on this figure was tight, but our favorite bragging spot is that Snake Eyes is capable of properly holding a sword with both hands and have it look natural. Snake Eyes has a ball-joint neck, swivel/hinge shoulders, swivel/hinge elbows, swivel/hinge wrists, ball-joint torso, ball-joint hips (utilizing the metal barbell), double-hinged knees, and swivel/hinge ankles. When it comes to articulation, Snake Eyes is a cut above the versions of “The Silent Master” that have come before. A JOE logo has been stamped cleanly on his left shoulder, and the same can be said for his right which sports the familiar Arashikage clan symbol. The figure has been molded in flat black, with a gloss black being painted onto areas like his gloves, holster, and boots to help differentiate pieces of the sculpt. Nope, that paint is just as stealthy as the horribly-scarred man it covers. The paintwork on Snake Eyes isn’t as minimal as it might seem from a quick glance. We still don’t know what those filmmakers were thinking! Like the other figures in the POC line, Snake looks as realistic as possible while still managing to keep that decidedly G.I. The best part? No mouth is sculpted on either version. By switching out the goggled head for the visor-laden one and adding the swords, the toy takes the appearance of the more modern version the fans clamor for. His harness is a separate piece and even has two elastic straps that run between Snake’s legs. Most notably, he is wearing the pullover sweater and is masked with his vented and goggled helmet. This version plays up the original commando persona of the JOE’s resident ninja. Snake Eyes’ sculpt is but one of the many reasons he is such an amazing toy. He is armed with a pistol, submachine gun, and swords to battle anyone who tries to stop him from reaching his target. As the team fights COBRA forces in the desert, Snake Eyes slips behind enemy lines to blow up COBRA fortifications. JOE team’s ninja commando and martial arts master. It survived about twenty seconds before we tore into SE’s package like a rabid mongoose… and by that, yes, we mean “with our teeth”. JOE Pursuit of COBRA (POC) Snake Eyes! This is the third version of our favorite silent assassin to hit the line’s short span, and looking upon it has caused many a toy fan to weep with pure, unadulterated joy. Welcome to our action figure review of Hasbro’s G.I. JOE line- thanks to making the last Snake Eyes figure you’ll ever need! Why would they do this? What kind of genius decided to give the fans exactly what they wanted?! We don’t know but while the accountants at Hasbro are kicking the s**t out of him, we’re gonna be singing that poor s.o.b.’s praises.
